Licence Agreement

This agreement covers every plugin you buy from Plugin Crate. It sits alongside our Terms and Conditions.

The short version

  • One licence covers one production site.
  • Development and staging copies of that site are free.
  • You get updates and support for 12 months.
  • The code is GPL-2.0-or-later, so you can modify it.
  • You may not resell or redistribute it.

1. Grant of licence

When your order is paid, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the plugin on one production WordPress installation that you own or operate, for as long as you like. You may also install it on any number of development, staging or local copies of that same site.

2. Additional sites

Each additional production site needs its own licence. If you build sites for clients, buy one licence per site you deploy to; the licence belongs to the site, not to the developer.

3. Updates and support

Your licence includes new releases and email support for 12 months from the purchase date. Updates are delivered through your account and by email. After 12 months the plugin continues to work exactly as installed; you simply stop receiving new versions and support. You are never forced to renew.

4. What you may do

  • Use the plugin on your licensed site, for as long as you want.
  • Modify the code to fit your project.
  • Use it on a client site, provided that site is the licensed one.
  • Keep a copy of the download for backup purposes.

5. What you may not do

  • Resell, redistribute, sublicense, rent or share the plugin, modified or not.
  • Include it in a bundle, template pack or hosting package you sell.
  • Remove or alter copyright and licence notices.
  • Use the licence key or download link on more production sites than you paid for.

6. GPL notice

The plugin code is released under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or later. Where the GPL grants you rights that this agreement does not, the GPL prevails for the code itself. The GPL does not grant you the right to our support, updates or download service.

7. Ownership

We retain ownership of the plugin, its documentation and its branding. This agreement grants a right of use only.

8. No warranty

The plugin is provided “as is”. We do not warrant that it will be error-free or that it will work with every third-party plugin, theme or hosting configuration. See the Refund Policy if it does not work for you.

9. Termination

This licence ends if you breach these terms. On termination you must stop using the plugin and delete your copies. Sections on ownership, disclaimers and liability survive termination.
